The ‘end’ of a pandemic can arise only when there is sufficient immunity in the population such that it is protected against severe infection outcomes. Mathematical models of immunity can be used to inform when this may occur. In this talk, we will discuss models of immunity generation in a person, and immunity distributions in a population. The models consider immunity gained from vaccination and infection, and they include waning immunity.
