Abstract:
Talk Abstract: In this talk I will show how the non-small cell lung cancer volume data from 26 patients can be modelled using ordinary differential equations. The model accounts for the concurrent chemo-radiotherapy the patients received and the model is able to fit well to the gross tumor volume. Based on the model parameters, a biomarker can be identified which classifies patients into two groups: patients with fast or slow cancer regrowth. The receiver operating characteristic curves show that the biomarker is a good classifier and that the biomarker can be potentially used as an early prognosis of treatment response.
