Enhancing the Next Generations of Public Health EOC's with Modeling, Simulation, Visualization & Mapping Tools
Rarely public health Emergency Operation Centres (PH-EOCs) that have been in operations in many public health agencies and organizations are activated at the same time and globally. COVID-19 pandemic forced the activation of PH-EOCs around the globe during which digital technologies including modeling, simulation, visualization, and mapping (MSVM) played a critical role in all aspects of the pandemic management at PH-EOCs level. However, development, acceptance, and adaptation of MSVM tools were not easy and face significant challenges. This presentation presents the findings of a survey conducted in Canada to examine various aspects of MSVM tools in a sample of PH-EOCs across Canada and provides suggestions for the role that the MSVM tools developers (modelling/simulation experts) can play to shape the next generations of PH-EOCs.
